She probably does not have the background on mental health disorders to properly articulate what she’s talking about. Sure that lends to the perpetuation of stereotypes and myths but if she’s not educated on proper terminology that’s not her fault. Your wording of your original comment implied that you are insane when in fact you would not be deemed insane by any institution or law enforcement. So you are also spreading dangerous misinformation.
Oh let’s be so deadass rn, her original two comments after my comment would’ve caused more damage to others implying that anyone with bipolar or schizophrenia is insane. I apologize for any harm from my first comment, merely meant it as “I severely struggle with my mental health but haven’t had the run in with jail or psych ward”. Again, nobody was coming at her, and I believe you’re taking this out of context. Have a wonderful night!
No I disagree. Harmful to different extents based on who’s reading it. Ppl throwing around oh I’m so insane and omg this is sending me into psychosis is way too common and hurtful to many. You can’t make a blanket statement it’s worse one way or the other. Especially when your argument is that you shouldn’t say everyone with it is insane, after saying you are insane. Seriously please get off this high horse.
