I’m a trans girl (or questioning) but I’m shy to dress feminine or do anything else like that. Any tips?

try small by finding your “color” and sticking to gender neutral ish things for now. For example brown looks really good on me so I tend to wear more shirts and accessories like that. Wide leg jeans are really trendy rn and can work with a lot of baggier shirts and sweatshirts. A looser silhouette is considered more androgynous than a form fitting one. I do hope you start to become more comfortable in feminine clothing tho! It’s so freeing

Eyeliner is easy and hot! Works for all genders imo so see how you like it

hi doll!! mascara does a lot and it’s extremely minimal. plus a brow pencil and that’s all you need. genuinely that’s all i do to get fancy sometimes lol. the group isn’t transphobic but i’ve seen a few terfs. fuck em, they’re not very bright. you shine brighter!!

Maybe get yourself some mascara like the pink one with the green top, not something super noticeable but just something for yourself and maybe even paint your nails!?

Research some visual cues that make you look more feminine, for example: taking up less space tends to make people look more fem(obv has a controversial background, but it’s the only thing coming to mind at the moment). I unfortunately am more interested in looking more masculine as a girl, but there are plenty of things that come across as more feminine than masculine. Learning how to use proportions to make your silhouette look more feminine works really well too!( ex: waist-hugging pants)

Yess I need to try to paint my nails lol, also I’ve been experimenting with eyeliner but haven’t gone beyond “guy liner” so I think mascara or a proper (not smeared) eyeliner would do the trick also thanks for the genuine and kind response lol

There’s been a creepy guy that kept asking this group this because he had a kink for forced feminization or smth (not that transphobia isn’t at play though) For dressing, you can ease into it by wearing more feminine colors like pink or purple or with girly patterns/graphics to get more comfortable with it. For make up and stuff you could start wearing a little guyliner or concealer (something that’s not extremely girly but more than most guys wear) and add to it as you get more comfortable

If you want to start doing your nails, black polish can be a good starting point! Plus layering glitter polish over black and seeing how the colors shift is super fun lol

That doesn’t make what was in that comment ok, but thanks for the niche context. Also that really f-ing sucks for this group, it looks like weirdo men are common. And yes I love guy liner and I have dark blue nail polish, but black is prob a better starting point as you said

Ooh definitely go for the blue if you like! Any of those darker colors can be a great starting point, whatever you’re comfortable with! And yeah I do did not mean for my comment to come across as defending the first person, I only saw it for a sec before it got removed 😭 Them being mean isn’t cool, I just wondered if the extra downvotes on the main post were because of the weirdo guy (I phrased that poorly in the first part of the comment and do apologize)

Thank you lol, I did thoroughly cuss them out in dms anyway plus blocked and reported. I’m also just wondering if there’s anything besides nail polish and some eye makeup that would make me “feminine” vs “dude with makeup” or “alt guy” if that makes sense. Like maybe red or white nail polish or certain eye ir face makeup ig lol

Yeah no I figured you weren’t defending them lol, just wanted to clarify or whatever. Also I just wish there was something in between “dude with makeup” and “trans girl” (or just “girl” lol)

In some people’s eyes, they’ll never be able to find a something in between. but i think the best umbrella term you’re looking for might just be “feminine” tbh

i’m unfortunately not a very feminine cis woman myself so i don’t have much to offer BUT feminine and delicate jewelry might help if you like that type of look that veers away from just alt.

You’re all good! And yeah, I’ve definitely heard similar comments from other trans ppl I know. Looking at other comments, I agree that adding some mascara and maybe doing your brows could help too. NYX is a good drugstore brand with some fun colors and finishes to their products! Idk your current/desired style, but I find that jewelry can help make a gender-neutral outfit feel more feminine too, and it can be easily removed if you don’t feel comfortable dressing that feminine yet

i know a lot of people have been recommending darker nail polish but have you thought about giving pink a try? not like a bold or hot pink but like a lighter pink? it might be a good way to ease into it as you get more comfortable since it’s close to the natural nail color and you could try different shades to see which you like best and maybe even add a clear gloss coat or something
