It’s your apartment, call the landlord. What your asking would be fine if you owned the property but could get fined if the thing breaks again and management finds out you’ve tampered with it

I did call maintenance but it was just cus I lost all power in my bedroom but then I found the breaker before maintenance got there and fixed it but then they came in anyway so all good this time. But my dad owns a construction company and has fixed everything ever for me so it’s just weird to not have him do it now

I’m glad you fixed it without issue and I understand it’s a big mindset shift, but just try to keep what I said in mind for the future. Some landlords will not hesitate to charge you an arm and a leg in repair fees if they believe you caused or worsened the problem. Especially if it’s electrical or plumbing related 👍
