you can even look at various christian kingdoms in from the middle ages to see how culture impacted how religion was practiced. protestant european kingdoms were nothing like orthodox nubian kingdoms, yet both practiced the same religion. the nubian kingdoms were much less patriarchal becuse of the differences in culture. attacking billions of people’s faith over something you have little knowledge about is not the take you think it is. not everything is black and white, especially not societies

and there have been MANY geopolitical situations within the last century that have greatly altered mena and the muslim world in general. so many americans think afghanistan is in the middle east and think persians are a type of arab, yet also think they know everything and have authority to put down billions of people. no regard to think the problems you see might be more complex than “islam is bad and muslims are terrorists”

that is not factual. it’s unislamic to ban women from education, everyone is commanded to pursue more knowledge regardless of gender. and religion can influence culture, but culture also influences how religion is practiced. to deny that is foolish and not looking into any of the examples i just gave, especially the christian nubian kingdoms

i advise you to not sit here and criticize people of a faith that you have no background with. otherwise you will rightly get lumped in with other western islamophobes who do try to generalize muslims as terrorists. not only do they do that, but they support violence against muslims and think it’s okay to force their own beliefs onto muslims, hence a justification for violence. unless you’re actively against that, then you’re not that different and your islamophobia is still aiding ppl like that

you still live in a christian majority country. that's still background on a societal level. you also probably come from an ethnic background where christianity is practiced, which is another connection culturally. like i said, you're still from a country that has a lot of people who are violently islamophobic, and a country that has destabilized the geopolitical situation of mena for resources and control. being from that background and also being islamophobic is siding with and aiding that

People do the same to Jews, Zionism aside. It’s apart of being a minority in America specifically. Ofc there are people out there who have malicious intent but just because you criticize the religion doesn’t mean you are islamaphobic/antisemetic. Judaism, Christianity, and Islam are all the same just different fonts. All three have been used to justify genocide and colonization. All three have abysmal rights for women. it’s very rarely that i see someone criticize or question something with good faith. yall tend to have a know it all and arrogant attitude without even learning real basics and think you have the right to police women’s choices. that’s what’s white feminist about it. there are definitely misogynistic men that try to weaponize islam against women, but they actively ignore very key parts of the faith. instead of disrespecting billions of ppl, you should target them instead if you want to do good

Yes agreed but they were clearly referring to Zionism when they said “yall say it’s not antisemitic to criticize Jews” when we were taking about religion. Not the individual actions of a person. I think the way ppl criticize Judaism, the religion, is usually pretty antisemitic too. Westerners criticize both religions in very bigoted and narrow ways.
