i have a new friend who’s on her sixth “boyfriend” in two months and every guy she says he’s “the love of her life.” she seeks one-on-one companionship and isn’t satisfied with the group friendship :/

My friend hasn’t been single since 7th grade, the longest she went without a boyfriend was 8 months and she had 2 talking stages during that time

I definitely have been this person before and it still fucks with me sometimes but it took me realizing that I was negatively affecting ppl around me and being annoying to start making changes

My friend has known a guy for 4 months and literally pushed our entire friend group away bc he didn’t like us. Deadass the longest she’s gone without a boyfriend in the past year or so was about a month. Also he broke up with her so now she not only has no shitty bf but also has no one to talk to abt it

8 months would be a lifetime to my friend she’s newly single and already looking for anyone and everyone to come fill the void 😵‍💫

at some point it’s self harm but I’m doing my best the only reason she’s not kicked to the curb is bc I love her mom, she knows I’m her only friend with sense and we’ve been friends since we were 7

she played herself 😭 you’d think isolating from friends would be a red flag but I guess not. she did that to me once but we were 15 at the time and that’s the onlyyyy reason she got away with it. I’m literally so tired grandpa

ik queer people like this too & it’s still insufferable even without the male-centering ;-; those people treat relationships like an obligation they must take as if they’re the ONLY way to find self-worth or happiness..

+ I’m aroace and the way those people talk about NOT being in a relationship has been unilaterally offensive & reflects a miserable mindset.

I get this but y’all will usually cut them off with no explanation which leads to a self fulfilling prophecy where they don’t know what they’re doing wrong and then they have no close friends and feel the need to stay in relationships even more, so communicate with them :)

At that point you almost wonder if girlie has borderline tbh

even if she does can we stop with the stigmatization, we really could all have some more compassion instead of judgment.

Borderline is a personality disorder, not a mental one. Same with narcissistic personality disorder. There’s a reason it’s stigmatized. Some of the most abusive people out there.

the medical system failed them. stigmatizing actively prevents people from getting treated.

It’s a personality disorder. They’re choosing to be like this. And irregardless I didn’t even say anything bad about them. It’s extremely common for them to have “black and white” thinking and be extremely hot and cold with people. It’s not “stigmatization” if it’s just the truth of the matter.

oh fuck off “choosing to be like this.” it’s true people with bpd often think in black or white, but bpd can be and is usually developed from trauma too, so no, they’re not “choosing to be like this” -sincerely, a psychology major

Then you’d know Personality Disorders are very treatable if the person has motivation to change. Again, it’s not a mental disorder. It’s that their personality is so deeply atrocious, that we’ve named their personality to be a disorder

hey so look up the definition of “personality disorder” and screenshot the part that says it’s a choice

explain? most disorders are treatable with the right help but lots of people with npd and bpd often don’t recognize they need it, so it goes untreated and stigmatized, you’re welcome

It’s not “my personality makes me treat people like shit”. It’s “I treat people like shit” Stop coddling these people. They don’t seek help since they don’t see how they act as a problem

the way you’re talking abt this clearly shows you’re just bitter & petty. I recommend therapy during this trying time.

Lmao, now you’re utilizing therapy speak on me. You sure you aren’t abusive, yourself? I work in therapy and addiction services. It’s just the truth. 95% of these people with personality disorders don’t want to change. And they often blame their actions on their disorder rather than face the truth that, it’s themselves causing it.

then you could’ve just said that as opposed to starting a whole argument in the replies of my comment. if 95% of people with personality disorders don’t seek help because they don’t want to change, maybe that is in fact a pattern of the disorder? just a thought

calling a stranger on YY abusive because of your narrow worldview is insane btw. you genuinely think everyone else has problems but yourself. this is sad. I hope you heal from whatever is causing this.

Again, utilizing therapy speak. “I hope you heal from this” Complete concern trolling lmao. When you have people literally try and stab you or other patients “for fun or attention” in their own words. You start to realize there’s a fucking reason these people have a stigma. It’s not because of nothing.
