I don't play Pokémon cards, but why is it so hard to avoid scalpers? Sell the cards through the counter, open the box seals, and sell one per person. Shit, so insane, it's to the point that I'm seeing new Pokémon scalper fights every week

i think scalpers should all be scalped, it’s so fucking bad. they’re ruining the love and joy hobbyists and kids have for the game and are profiting off of the very love and joy that they ruin - same idea as raising insulin prices just to profit. it’s genuinely fucked up and if anyone’s a scalper they need to seriously reconsider what impact they’re having on the world, because it’s a bad one.

i am a pokémon tcg player and it’s so bad that as soon as a card price goes up because of playability, scalpers and resellers jack it up even more. they have no idea what a “poké pad” is but they’re happy to sell a full art of it for $15 sometimes the opposite happens though and i can haggle multiple “bulk ex cards” for a couple dollars. and those “bulk” cards are like $5-10 each but i maybe pay $3. i love taking advantage of scalpers. do it as often as possible.

Scalpers are the reason that all of the Pokémon cards at my local store are behind a glass cage, while I have to press a fucking red button next to it for a retail worker to come and unlock it so I can get ONE PACK. And even then, the cards are STILL ravaged from day one.

Do they fight with their hands or with their smells?

Not just in Pokémon. Hotwheels have the same BS done. It’s impossible to just browse and find anything good when I go to the grocery store.

It’s because everything and anything is a business. They rather do that than get an actual job.

Dude scalpers will ruin any market they can. Pokémon, hotwheels, youngLA (athletic / lifting clothes, shoes, video game consoles, shoot I even had to deal with them when I was buying my car back in 2023. It’s terrible.

Yeah I know it’s not Pokémon but I assume it’s a a trend like how they did with ps5, sneakers and anything that trends online, just following the new trend
