Because it looks like AI generated slop. If this had been released as shown in the trailer like 5 years ago it would be fine, but with the progression of AI and the “blandness” of the art style it seems less like artistic choice from Nintendo (also quite different than their usual art style) and more like they threw it at AI as a money grab
I know the use of AI assets are becoming more common in the gaming space, but I highly doubt this game is AI generated. It looks to me more like a soft art style that AI often resembles. But I wasn't expecting AAA graphics on a Nintendo game, or the breath of the wild art style for this game. I think the soft and vibrant textures suit this game much better
Extremely smooth, glossy, and photorealistic textures; mixed levels of detail (a rock on the ground is clear right next to one that's blurry); the main characters look like they're trying to be "realistic" which looks uncanny and contrasts with the more exaggerated style of the other characters; tons of god rays/bloom and light shafts coming through fog; the generic copy-pasted UI from Breath of the Wild
Like genuinely look up some of the dorks on Twitter or Youtube posting their AI generated "game ideas" and they all look incredibly similar to this. Again, I do not for a second think that Nintendo used AI in creating this remake, but the style they landed on looks very similar to all the people who are using AI and just typing "make the graphics really good" in the prompt
