It wouldn’t be half as bad if you could skip some of the stuff that’s blatantly tutorial focused (the deer hunt, interrogating, etc) and that long ride to the overlook

Make a save at the start of Chapter 2 and just start all your new games off that. It’s not Skyrim, you don’t HAVE to start a new game before the tutorial.
