Forza Horizon 2 is, to this day, one of the best, most complete feeling racing games out there. I’d say prove me wrong but ya can’t. Not to mention it looks gorgeous even with more up close angles 12 years later.

Personally was more of a horizon 3 fan but both were peak. Crazy how recent Forza games are technically superior in most ways but just feel so much less rewarding and engaging

Played some racing games as a kid but not “my thing” until this past year, fell in love with FH1 completed it and now I’m the middle of 2, I pretty much have all but one or titles left, it’s been a minute, thanks for reminding me lmao, I’ve heard the “newer game is soulless” narrative a lot, must be true, tragic🥀 At least the og’s are still available to play without the servers

I loved horizon 3 as well, but I found the less directed story a bit aimless (a problem which has only gotten worse with each follow up) and I don’t think they did as much as they could have with the setting. The locations were great, I loved the dlc, but it felt like there was a lot of space that was just there to make the map seem bigger than it was.

It was also a downgrade in terms of visuals quite a bit with legacy model cars, since Horizon 2 had the benefit of being able to use the lighting engine and graphics of Motorsport 5. And while I loved the jungle and beach stuff, I really do miss the 𝘥𝘺𝘯𝘢𝘮𝘪𝘤 𝘸𝘦𝘢𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳 FH2 had. The game was practically sold on that at E3. 20 layers of rain that look 10% better than 99% of games in 2026, and it got cut from subsequent games in favor of larger maps

Valid I just prefer it cause I played it a lot more tbh so it’s more nostalgic for me. But I 100% agree the aimlessness and lack of satisfying progression in each newer entry is really what kills the newer games for me
