Imma be so real with you chief. I love the convenience of steam, their customer service, and general transparency. They are no better when it comes to this, they can shut off your game too. They just don't do it cause they're not complete assholes yet

I get what you’re trying to say but in this instance it doesn’t make sense. You’re saying that PlayStation sucks for ending physical disc production but also saying that Steam, a digital-only platform, is great?

I just pray that steam continues to have these values in my life time. I don’t know if I can take another disappointment like that

Any other company with steams market share would be fucking customers and developers left and right but not steam

They are a monopoly, they just also happen to be very user friendly because they screw over indie devs instead

I would think that a heavy difference between the two is that steam has always been a digital platform, while Sony usually always published their games as physical copies as well as the digital copies. Along with such, steam relies heavily based upon the power of the computer, while console games are built around the console itself. And there’s also the issue that not everyone has the stable internet connection at home to always be downloading all of their games, and that a physical copy helps.

People who are less fortunate still be able to enjoy a lot of big titles, especially those who purchase most of their games second hand like I do. I rarely ever have the opportunity to purchase a new copy of anything and physical copies allow an amazing opportunity for people to be able to enjoy a game without spending the full 60-90 bucks for the game, when someone else decided they didn’t want their copy anymore.
