I’m disabled so my reflexes are bad right I got to the fight with a certain cloaked figure in kingdom hearts 2 final mix at that one endgame world that looks like a city I am about to cry. It’s way too hard even on easy mode LOL

Not disabled but I get so pissed at soulsbros or whatever that are vehemently against OPTIONAL difficulty sliders. It’s like the knowledge that people might possibly be enjoying the game out there differently from them is a huge detriment to their experience.

I K N O W I’ve been in formed that I should not even buy Elden ring because there’s no built-in difficulty adjusters and I’d have to mod it

Exactly, and people don’t seem to understand that difficulty sliders actually give people the means to enjoy and EQUALLY CHALLENGING experience that IS in line with the spirit of the game. And even if they just use them to make the game easier for some reason (of which there are many valid ones like not having much time to spend gaming), it’s not like it affects others’ experiences???????

And in terms of dev time etc., it’s not hard to do something really basic like “all enemies have -X% health.” Ofc more nuanced difficulty sliders are better, but the most basic, easy solutions are still getting most of the way there for people who need them.

A lot of people like to think that what is challenging for them should be the baseline. Bro- nuh uh.

Exactly, and they can’t seem to comprehend that what’s challenging for them might be either too easy or impossible for other people. Letting ppl adjust difficulty just means that others with different abilities can experience the SAME level of challenge that their precious “integrity of game vision” demands

It’s just a fundamental lack of empathy and/or critical thinking
