Thank you!! :) and Do what feels right! Dont focus to hard on making it perfect. shade how you wanna, use colors that clash, go nuts.

also, For digital art - Play around with the layers opacity and such! Using things like overlay, hard light, difference, color dodge - Are SUPER fun!
