College has taught me to become more selfish. I’m tired of being nice to people. It only hurts me in the long run! I always try to please other people only for it to hurt me academically, financially, or them just ghosting/ rejecting me. I’m so done.

Healthy boundaries are actually not selfish. Keep making healthy choices, my friend.

Same. Then people judge me for being selfish and self centered.

I try to be nice and easy going but a few weeks ago my friend said to me while we were drunk that I’m “easy to manipulate” and I was like “are you deadass rn”

Being a nice person isn’t conditional on the behaviour of others. This doesn’t mean let others take advantage of you, we need to be wise, but don’t let others change who you are and steal your happiness. Their behaviour says more about them than you so it’s they who need to change, not you. If they don’t want to change then best to distance yourself from them.

The ppl that judge you the most for it are often the ones that were benefitting from your selflessness.
