like yes body shaming in any fashion is stupid and harmful in any way. obviously. but let’s not act like it wasn’t systematically implemented for thin people. people praised the thinness of models and celebrities and still do. meanwhile, you had fat camps that were akin to torture (look up camp shane), shows like the biggest loser, entire troupes based on reducing fat people to slobs that are laughable to be attracted to. people still shame bigger folks when they date thinner people!!

They wanna be oppressed so bad, cause somehow being called anorexic is as bad as or worse than never seeing yourself represented anywhere, having harmful disinformation spread about people like you, being treated like you're stupid, lazy, or disgusting, and ubiquitous medical discrimination

Thin people don’t understand the privilege they have. Those of us with bigger bodies are regularly shamed for being big and even when being treated by medical professionals they discriminate and don’t take anything seriously because you “just need to lose weight” when there could be more to it than that. Clothing is also another problem in of itself

deadass a fat person will be like “I was dehumanized and bullied to the point of contemplating suicide” just to have a skinny person say “well we’re the same because they told me to eat a burger 😢”

Not to mention, even if they have a hard time finding clothes that fit in their size, they can still find clothes to physically cover up their body. And not to mention like, the way public spaces are just not built for fat people to exist in. Or that it’s been proven that you’re more likely to face job discrimination when you’re fat.

there’s this post in girl talk rn that was supposed to uplift fat women, meanwhile ofc thin women also have to comment and say “well someone called me a twig and told me to eat a cheeseburger so clearly it’s the same” like really???

THIS PART!!! so many people have suffered and even died because of doctors overlooking real conditions and saying “just lose weight”. it’s so much easier to write something off as diabetes bc a patient is fat rather than screening them for pancreatic cancer or endocrine disorders

Yeah. And people think it's just as easy as "eat healthy and exercise!!!" Like... Just bc that works for you doesn't mean it works for everyone.

Exactly human physiology is unique with how it can vary person to person. Not everyone gets the same results from doing the same stuff
