personally, yes. Sometimes I lose motivation when I’m the only one reading my stories and it helps when I get comments from readers. There’s even been times when I got a comment on a fic I abandoned and it’ll motivate me to finish it 😭

idk for me my personal story is a massive crossover that ik will have a small audience, and i know tying my motivation to finish it to readers/commenters will only diminish my motivation. but for other non crossover fics i post them bc i wouldnt have the motivation to write them at all without posting them. depends ig!

I would post them, I like to say my target audience is myself and if one other person out there likes it, that’s great. Social media has made us feel like we need to go viral or have thousands of kudos for our writing to matter. But even if it’s super niche, someone who appreciates it will find it and enjoy
