I feel like this depends on the alien culture a bit. Like if this person is representing Earth in like a tribunal where Earth is being judged worthy/unworthy, maybe they should be a history major so they can debate the merits of human civilization. But if it’s like a negotiation, political science would make sense

For context: the character saved the earth in canon from aliens multiple times and my fic is basically the public having an issue that their de facto Earth/Human race representative doesn’t have any education past High school, and they’re basically forced by their commanding officer to get a degree that would benefit them as an Earth diplomat

Yeah it’s fun cause he’s like a canonically smart character but he just does not care at all about getting an education. My outline is basically him trying to speedrun higher education as fast as possible so he can get back to hitting things and everyone else is just like 🙃

That was my first thought! But I felt the character isn’t interested in American or even Earth politics as much as he’s being forced to get a degree that makes him an okay choice to take on intergalactic diplomatic missions, so right now I’m writing him as majoring in International Policy with a minor in International Relations and Public Policy

Hospitality They forced him to get an education (maybe in business or polisci), then fine he’s gonna get the least business business major he can get

I really appreciate the chaos and vindictiveness behind this idea. I think I’m gonna stay with the international policy major since I’ve gotten pretty deep in my research for it at this point, but this gives me idea for one of the plot lines I have in it
