idk if this was mentioned in your research, but after confession, the priest will give you a penance. normally it’s a couple prayers, and after you say that amount of prayer, you’re forgiven. for murder, the priest can’t turn you in because that’s breaking the seal of confession, but he will tell you to turn yourself in as your penance. source: my religion teacher in catholic school who almost became a priest
i don’t know squat about catholicism, as i was raised baptist. trying to do my best here, but i don’t know anything about the church itself. like, i wish i had a step-by-step on all the rules 😭 when is confession and why do people just go sit in the church whenever they want? does the priest live there? why do you stand and kneel and stand and kneel? i need someone to ask these questions to
Church is always supposed to be unlocked and welcoming of people- they go in and pray about whatever, especially if they’re in need of extra guidance, priest lives in his own house but it’s usually right next to the church, people kneel by the pews getting in and out because you’re not supposed to face your back to the cross and kneeling shows humility
Someone could so totally survive falling three levels but they could also be incredibly dead, it really depends on their health and what they’re falling onto. Thirty feet is usually quoted as the minimum to kill you, but think of all those people who fall and die in their shower, and then think of all those people in freak accidents who survived falling without a parachute Im realizing this might’ve been rhetorical but I’m too lazy to delete lol
Same. I still go to mass from time to time but I haven’t been to confession in like 7 years, super awkward experience. But yeah you can tell the priest anything under the seal of confession and they’re not supposed to share it. I think they can kind of take action to protect someone though, they just have to keep the confession and confessor’s involvement out of it when they communicate to other people if that makes sense.
