Please realize that if you think that works on Ao3 that you think are disgusting/disturbing/morally-bankrupt should be removed, then you necessarily invite others to remove what THEY think are morally bankrupt works (sex ed, queerness, etc)

Yes!! A work may exist that most people would say is disgusting, extreme, horrifying, etc, but creative platforms where you can post any range of content need to exist. If you start to place limitations it’s too easy for that to escalate. Not to mention that disturbing content can exist, but that doesn’t mean it’s not meaningful to some people or thoughtfully crafted at the same time.

I am not trying to argue that you should change your opinions on the morality of those works, just that it is IMPOSSIBLE to ban one “”objectively”” bad trope/content without banning other tropes/content that you may not feel are bad that other people do.

Tags exist for a reason. If someone doesn’t want to see a certain topic in a story they don’t have to interaction with it
