Care to offer an example, bc aren’t the notes always the authors talking to the audience? I’ve only read on ao3 so maybe that’s my confusion

It’s in text. Iirc one was like “look I don’t know fashion, just know she looked good.” Silly shit like that The old style would have the prose like normal then then A/N: blah blah comment from author, then go back to prose. It was often a wattpad/ff.net thing
