There are some fics I’ve published after just the first chapter was written and others I waited until I had 1 or 2 chapters but now publish pretty much when I finish a chapter with maybe a couple paragraphs in the next. I don’t keep a consistent update schedule though, I tried and it just didn’t work out. It’s all up to personal preference :) and as for the first part, don’t worry too much about it, being perceived can be scary but in general most people who read it will either not care

Depends on how fast you can write and edit a chapter and how much leeway you want to give yourself. Also if you want to be on a release schedule. I’m writing my chapter 8 right now and probably won’t post chapter 1 until I’m done with chapter 10. Literally because I take too much time to write and edit.
