not intentionally! I’m politically active in my local community so I generally have that need sated… but the stories I write about/around are influenced by my circumstances. including the politics I don’t purposefully craft a fiction around

There is a piece of art from 2016 in the form of an undertale fanfic where they have to deal with President Donald trump after leaving the underground. I cannot express to you how life changing this fic was to 14 yr old me.

for instance, I’m currently working on the outline for a longfic where some nonhuman characters have their heritage exposed in a way that violently ostracizes them from the communities they serve. part of the intended message is that actually, very few people Truly Originate From Where They Currently Are, and it would be foolish to try to bind everyone to their origin point. which is pretty strongly pro-immigration. (one of these characters is half-human, too.)

i read a fic and it was outright making up things about irl politics (usa, gaza specifically) and i was so thrown off. it was happy-go-lucky so i was like “is this a way to cope ??” or something ??? idk it feels wrong to write literally history as a happy lie but idk maybe theyre going through something
