Personally don’t give a shit as long as they’re not harassing the people it’s about, and if the people asked for no smut no one writes smut. I understand arguments for it being bad I just personally think we got real problems

it kinda depends on which one for me. i don’t read or write it but idol rpf (like kpop) i understand to an extent bc their personas are manufactured and “not them” in a way. Athlete rpf is kinda ehhhh especially when it’s college athletes. Pros are media trained but college kids are not and I wouldn’t say pros “manufacture” their personas (or fandom pairings) like idols do

This might not be helpful at all, but the only rpf I’ve read was a survivor au where all the characters/contestants were from the mcu except they kept the host Jeff Probst and it was the BEST decision

i love it honestly since for the most part it's not abt the real people so much as the narratives and personas they show the world. though obviously don't show it to the people it's about bc most people probably don't want to know about it
