We do but saying the word slash is definitely colloquially used for gay ships

Though I do think this isn’t entirely correct either bc it’s only fully typed out as slash that it really means that not as a bit of punctuation

I thought it was a funny question and I knew the answer immediately, but then I got to thinking about it. Cuz to my understanding, we use / to denote romantic or sexual relationships and & to denote familial or friendly relationships. I didn’t think the punctuation was gender-specific, but then I was wondering if I got it twisted somewhere!

Yeah so this is old fanfic times like back when we used lemon. But basically if I were to say oh yeah I read slash fic 99.99% of times it’s gonna be about gay ships. But / is more of a tagging thing yk?
