I’d argue it’s implied it’s gonna be slow updates for anything unless there’s an update schedule in the summary, and even then life happens and people have to go on hiatus.

The craziest thing about this comment is that the OP of the original post said that they update once a week, and this comment was 10 days after the last update. like??? this person is literally updating once a week, attacking an author for not updating in a week is crazy. Far from slow updates.

The only time I’ve mentioned something like this was when an author posted 15 chapters every Wednesday then stopped for a few months and I asked ‘I really like this fic [whole paragraph about what I liked] are you planning on finishing it?’ And the author responded a few weeks later saying they were in a few weeks and I think I responded with ‘YESSSS YOUR AMAZING’ but I would NEVER do something like that after a week…
