I gotta be real I know basically nothing about MLP. But someone wrote a fic where they played Kerbal Space Program and wrote a fic based on how it went down, then wrote a sequel that was a lengthy crossover with the Martian. It was actually pretty good?

Literally just start with season 1 of Friendship is Magic: it’s very much a kids’ show at the very beginning, but then it throws you into an amazing world of lore and character building. Like: I have been in the fandom since Gen 4 (Friendship is Magic) came out in the early 2010s, and I still have questions about the lore and creation myth of a fictional nation made up mostly of horses.

It was a big thing back in the height of the MLP fandom to make horse puns. The show did a lot with locations (Ex: Canterlot being a portmanteau of a horse’s canter and Camelot, there was a far-off nation of horses rather than ponies called Saddle Arabia, like Saudi Arabia.)
