I just made a post about this recently but “Wreaking Havoc” by ignition. It’s a Roy Mustang x Jean Havoc fic (fandom is Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood). I’ve reread it like 5 times and have it saved in my phone if it ever gets deleted it’s so good. It has smut but it takes a backseat to the drama/romance/angst. Those specific genres are known for cheesy execution but I think it’s extremely well-written

It’s the kinda fic that feels like it’s just expanding on the existing story in the scenes not shown rather than changing something fundamental about the characters or the story. It feels like it could’ve actually taken place in the main story. There’s even an original character thrown in and she doesn’t feel out of place.
