Yes, mine has changed a lot over the past few years. At the most, readers will say they like it. That’s if they notice! I also took a long break on a fic and had people begging for a return. When I did, nobody mentioned the style once. They were just overjoyed the fic continued! There is nothing wrong with switching it up!
