If they’ve eliminated your position then you got laid off not fired. The terminology is important when interviewing for new jobs. Also get that unemployment. It’s not a handout it’s an insurance that you paid for with your fica taxes specifically for this situation.

Sorry people are dicks for no reason at all times with their mighty keyboard warrior pen. I know this is probably stressful and pretty heartbreaking too.
