I hate men like this. My stepdad is the best man I’ve ever met and has raised me like his own, but my dad? Cares for my half brother like a normal parent does but the second I ask for money it’s “oh I have bills to pay”, “oh my car is in the shop”. Like he owes me at least ten years of child support, I’m always the one to call him first, and he acts like he loves me yet does nothing to show it. Words mean nothing anymore

its genuinely so upsetting because i haven’t asked him for ANY help financially since i turned 18 and he always goes on about “regretting spoiling so much as a kid” despite making me work my ass off for every dollar he gave or spent on me outside of child support to my mom from when i was 7-18 years old.

right?? like when i was between jobs in highschool when i started driving and my moms ex was kind enough to always fill up my tank because asking my dad just turned into “you’re being lazy just find a job” as if i wasn’t actively looking for one
