I was lucky enough to land a job in my field (archaeology). But I'm a part time on call worker essentially. When there's a project, I go. It's pretty decent for entry level and not too long after my undergrad, but man do I get comments about not doing enough. Sorry that I'm looking at the big picture and that this majorly improves my grad school apps
half the time your application will automatically get filtered out lmao. honestly there’s people who DO meet the requirements and still get filtered out by AI. my boss has a day job as a hiring manager and she hatessss all this automated crap they’re implementing bc she said it weeds out so many good candidates for arbitrary reasons
I tried explaining this to my grandma (who worked as a hiring manager in the 80s and 90s, and how her advice isn’t actually beneficial anymore) so she started calling the places I applied for to tell me they didn’t use ai. YEAH GRANDMA THEYRE NOT GONNA TELL YOU THAT ITS BUILT IN TO THE WEBSITE AND THEY HIDE IT LIKE THE SCUM THEY ARE! Plus around 20% of job postings are found to be fake bc they never intended on hiring
