It could be that he’s into cool macabre stuff or maybe he is disturbed in a bad way. But hopefully the former because some people just have those interests in a harmless way

He collects dead animals and road kill and preserves their bones, also kills moths and butterflies he raises and has them hanging in boxes on his wall

Try to talk him into being a mortician or animal cadaver specialist or smth if he really has a need to see dead things that way he doesn’t have a need to go to extremes
