Let’s get something straight - my sisters are adults. They have every right to say no. Do they do it a lot, even to me, to the point where it feels like they don’t give a shit about this family? Yeah. Nonetheless, I can’t stop them

BUT THE MINUTE I tell my parents I can’t make it for thanksgiving because I have exams, job applications, and apartment hunting to do before I’m done with grad school they legitimately act like they’ll disown me. Because I’ve always been there. I’ve always helped. I’ve always been the one to pitch in. I’m sick and tired of being too reliable that I can’t say no to ONE THING and have no one to back me up on it
