It’s frustrating when I try so hard to explain to my parents that I CHOOSE what to do with MY LIFE, and they go on to manipulate + guilt trip me for wanting to do my own thing.

For most ppl it just doesn’t work like that. Most ppl who have a strong relationship with their parents are subject to a LOT of inputs from them.

This! I went to therapy today and explained exactly this to my therapist. My parents will guilt trip me over every little thing I do meanwhile my older brother gets to live his life like it’s sunshine and rainbows
