Tomorrow is Christmas and I feel numb. No family gatherings, no presents, nothing. Just another day of sitting around the house with my dad while my mom’s at work. Then she’ll come home and bitch while I sit here lonely and sad

Yeah I understand, I’ll be left alone with my siblings, but what helps is trying to give others a wonderful Christmas. I have my siblings, maybe you could do something for your parents. The best way to feel joy is to be in service to another, maybe be kind no matter what. It’s Christmas you know. Although, I want to acknowledge that I actually do fully empathize with what your going through.

First off my dad is off of work for the holidays and he doesn’t do much outside of work. I don’t appreciate you automatically saying that I should “start dinner or clean the kitchen” as I know you probably wouldn’t say the same if a guy posted this. Also she would never let me cook dinner unless it was something extremely basic like a frozen pizza. I can cook but my parents act like I’m stupid when it comes to household chores

Regardless of you being a girl or a guy you can cook 🤣 like you sound dumb even saying that. And if you are not capable of cooking food then you need serious help. It’s very easy to learn especially with technology. Instead of complaining do something about it

just because you have loving and not strict parents doesn’t mean everyone else does. there doesn’t have to be a reason, parents can just be assholes who hate their kids for no reason

Thank you! My mom is very critical of me and always finds something wrong with me or the things I do or say. So when it comes to stuff like helping around the house I’ve given up
