I’m also in the same boat. It sucks that they want a man who has a high paying job and a wealthy family so you and them can be set for life. Honestly that’s not realistic. If you’re happy with them and you’ve lived together with them to know they are financially responsible and have a stable job that pays decent, I think that is a good sign. But also listen to them if you think they see something you’re not.
