my dad made me start working full time every summer at age 13. and part time during the school year. we’re not even a poor family, he just has trauma from his parents doing the same. so now i’ve graduated college and im completely burnt out. i’m -

completely uninterested in my major (computer science). i only went in because of pressure to make a lot of money and obviously the market for cs sucks now. he can’t go a single day without mentioning my lack of a job multiple times. i’m just so tired and want to move out, but i don’t have the money or any idea what kind of job to look for.

i enjoy spending time outside like hiking, skiing, camping, etc and maybe building things. but ideally not something too rough on the body. unfortunately most things that fit that criteria are low paying but i may just have to come to terms with that.

i’ve considered (and still am) things like carpentry, field surveying, or trail mantainence/forest ranger

I would start looking into trade schools and maybe even possible internships/apprentice positions in those fields. Save up and be proactive
