I think you’re right to be concerned but also right to support him. He’s had some very good teammates, and I think that harms his reputation bc they’re so young but I think Lawson is nowhere near the worst guy on the grid. But f1 is reactionary and him underperforming vs these good teammates isn’t a good sign

No, you’re not. Lawson will be the next Bottas

fair enough im not really a lawson or red bull/vcarb fan but even i don’t really like red bull cycling through drivers so much. they have some great new talents in lindblad and hadjar so i hope they don’t screw them over. lawson also seems to be improving (q3 entry in australia) so hopefully he can become a reliable driver. maybe not a hadjar/lindblad level talent but a relatively consistent points scorer who is able to support their teammate

Yeah, Lawson isn’t anything to scoff at. I don’t know if he’s a top team driver, even as a #2, but he definitely deserves to at least be in the lower half of the series (probably a #1 at a lesser team or a lower team that isn’t choosing a #1 and #2) he’s not a bad driver, but Linblad is really good, and hadjar is probably the best Red Bull #2 since Checo so it’s hard to go against those guys, especially as the older of both of those duos
