Felt. Worked with birds of prey and returned to school. Luckily I was working wildlife rehab at school and we had BOP ambassadors so I could get somewhat of a “fix” lol. Finally transitioning out of zoo keeping to domestics and knowing I’m going to miss my animals so much.

Idk where you’re located but the center for birds of prey in SC is where I started. Theres also the Carolina raptor center both are pretty good SC gives you more hands one experience with them though. I believe NEI in Florida (the people who train birds for Disney) have internships. I don’t believe either of the ones I listed are paid though, except NEI. World bird sanctuary in Saint Louis isn’t a bad option but also not paid as far as I know.

Raptor Club at Washington State University is a great opportunity for any member of the public to participate in Raptor care, conservation, and education, no experience necessary! Find their website and send an email if you’re interested bc the facility is not open to visitors unless by invitation

Thank you so much for the info guys, really appreciated. I’m in NYC, volunteering at an avian clinic rn but maybe after I graduate I’ll look into options in and out of state cus that would be a dream. So much more to learn still. shame how little this kind of work is rewarded ):
