gratitude expressed toward the earth for every day that we have her 🥲 there’s a good audio reading of a children’s book about it by Chief Jake Swamp, called “Giving Thanks: A Native American Good Morning Message” with animated illustrations from the book on YouTube. Chief Jake Swamp narrates it too in both English and Mohawk languages too. It helps me to listen or read it every morning. I’ve started reciting it aloud while I watch out the window or while grounding out in the grass too.
i just think that if we do trigger an extinction event and humanity and current animal/plant population die out, that we are only like one billionth of the way through the earths potential lifespan under our sun and the likelihood she will recover and create new, beautiful life is highly likely. Our lifespans are infinitesimal compared to earths so we just gotta do what we can as a species and accept that one day we will die out, and the rest is out of our hands.
