There isn’t enough time and space on this platform to explain why this is a wonderful and fascinating subject, but Stalinist industrialization was virtually the only alternative to Dutch-style imperialism. Due to the fact that colonialism already happened and state nationalism is a global political force, rapid command industrialization is the only way for a fledgling country looking to become a global market competitor to accomplish any semblance of economic autonomy.
