ehhhhh we can revel in the fall of huge corporations without bringing people who got sucked into the vicious generational cycle of being born into poverty, undereducated, and thusly taken advantage of by crooked politicians into it.

Cheap oil becomes the downfall of oil because there isn’t excess revenue to put into maintenance, capital improvements, and R&D. I fucking love economics

libraries do exist, yes, but there may not be transportation to/from them, children too young to work are often needed to help around the house while their parents work, children old enough to work are working whenever they can, and people may not know what specifically to look up. it IS learned helplessness due to factors people cannot control; that’s the point.

I agree with you. There are articles written about this. Specifically about Pennsylvania coal workers who had job programs to learn coding available from the Obama administration. They specifically said they didn’t want that and just wanted to work on coal.

There are also articles about south Texas Latinos who historically voted democrat but swung Trump be they identity as oil and gas workers first and Latinos second. Now Trump has historically low approval ratings from Latinos. They knew what they were doing, they knew what Trump told them, they still went for it. 🐆 meet face
