How I deal with large bugs that come into my room: Flies: shooed out if possible, but disposed of if necessary Ladybugs: gently tossed out the window Invasive stink bugs: IMMEDIATELY FLUSHED WHEN CAUGHT

Spiders and ladybugs can stay, nothing else can unfortunately.

Haven’t had a gnat problem yet and the spiders just hang out on the outside part of the window frame so we’re chill

That’s nice! How about like ants?

On the second floor so ants don’t really come up here, plus I’m really good about keeping my sugary foods either sealed or in the fridge where the ants can’t get them.

If they did get in they’re most likely invasive fire ants in my area so death

The ladybugs were fine up until the point there were seven in my room at once. Now they get thrown out the window whenever they’re in grabbing distance to keep the population low.

I think it’s been a bit of a mix of native lady bugs and Asian lady beetles (the invasive one) but I think from now on I’m gonna take a good look and make sure only the natives get released. Hopefully once I get my food plants I started from seed planted outside I’ll have less visitors as I think they’re looking for aphids
