I strongly support the research to make invasive mosquito species extinct. Then we still have the native ones for the ecosystem but a lot of those do not bite humans or transmit diseases to humans

Only half of all mosquitoes actually need blood, and only 3 genera of mosquitoes are the troublemakers for us. I support getting rid of those species, especially the ones that carry malaria. In certain places where they’re invasive, it would cause no impact at all to get rid of them.

Unfortunately we do have native ones that bite humans too. Only about 6% of all mosquitoes bite humans though. It would be easiest to get people on board with eliminating just the invasive ones
