So what are y’all’s thoughts and opinions on zoos, accredited and not, petting farms, and similar things?

depends on one to the next but certain accreditation programs have standards that should be utilized by any zoos/petting farms in my opinion such as certain forms of stimulus, enclosure standards and veterinary standards and making it into a learning environment for the patrons going there

I guess that’s true and it may be hard to really tell how good or bad a zoo is without knowing the inner working?

Watch out for petting zoos that specifically have baby animals. You have to ask what happens to them when they grow up…

I agree!! Most accredited zoos that I know of also contribute to conservation, and have very strict standards. One zoo by me, had their contract change from every 10 years with the zoo and aquarium Association to every one year for renewal until they updated one of their enclosures properly :) non-accredited zoos are iffy for me
