This past summer and earlier in fall, when I’d go out on a run at my local park in the morning, in the more foresty sections I’d often smell bananas even though there are definitely no banana trees here (NJ). Anyone know what this might’ve been?
The smell might still be there but I haven’t been able to go on those runs in a few weeks

Also by “more foresty sections” I mean a gravel trail through a forest. Large enough for park vehicles, but that’s it

I think I heard somewhere that bees can smell like bananas when they sting and/or as an alarm pheromone so that could it be orrrr there’s a plant that’s smells (flowers?) like bananas
