Bogota, Addis Ababa, and Nairobi are equatorial and in the global south and are safe it’s the Indian subcontinent that’s most at risk bc of its dependence on the monsoon and Himalayan glaciers

It depends on which part of climate change you’re talking about. Because anyone around the equator has a large impact on agriculture. If you look at Notre Dame’s global adaptation index, they have the most vulnerable countries as majority of Africa, and some South Asia. If you look at GDP, it’s South Asia, Middle East, Africa, Central America, and South America, aka regions on the equator.

I believe those equatorial cities are on there due to elevation which makes a very large difference. Bogota is known as the city of eternal spring and Addis Ababa is in the cool humid highlands that wouldn’t get messed up by heat too much. If they finish their giant dam then they’ll be prepared
