Y’all ever find yourself pissed tf off that it is somehow strange to decline a plastic bag for 2 items at a gas station? Or a paper receipt at Walmart? You have to actually work hard to avoid being given these completely useless and wasteful things

Lady at the gas station hit me with the “oh wow! Saving the planet huh?” Bro what? Who tf needs a bag to carry a bag of chips and a soda from the gas station to their fucking car. Who made this normal?

I wish I could choose to print a receipt at my work, they usually don't want it which means half the trashcan turns into trashed receipts :(

i get why you feel that way but it’s generally just courtesy to offer — costumers are unpredictable ! i don’t find it strange at all to decline, that’s a weird thing to judge. plus where i work the receipts print automatically so waste happens regardless D:

I told a guy who was ranting about how he misses styrofoam cups that I actually prefer paper cups and straws and he started ranting about how i needed to get off my high horse… perhaps i just don’t think my comfort is more important than the environment?

Yeah but luckily this is becoming more and more common, esp with the rise of reusable bags. I rarely ever saw a plastic bag while i lived in scotland for a few months

Sorry yeah I don’t mean to direct my anger at any cashier or anything, that lady was very kind and 100% just doing her job. I’m just so mad that we’ve got this system where needless waste is pushed at you at every turn. Everything prints receipts even though nobody uses them, everyone gets a plastic bag for every item no matter how silly. And if someone were to suggest not using plastic bags unless you actually need one, that would be radical. I just don’t get it

i think it’s strange that they don’t even ask you, if it’s a bunch of items i get it but i bought a sweater the other day and she put it halfway in a giant plastic bag before i had a chance to say i don’t need a bag. and they say are you sure? like yeah if i wasn’t sure i would’ve let u put it in the bag.

be careful when you say you don’t prioritize personal comfort over everything. people get mad at u for that.
