Okay lowk imagine this combined with like some prewar era too. Like a party in a late 1920’s themed campaign where they get to indulge in a good economy for a bit before it crashes down and then they get drafted…
I kinda wanna run a campaign where the players are drafted into a war but they don’t know it

Granted the players would need some insane foresight to gear up before the economy went to crap because after itd probably become a battle of attrition with the primary way to get stuff being either rationed or taken from fallen enemies since everything would become super expensive

Nah they wouldn’t they could be provided standard issue kit. Then it becomes a case of scavenging/looting/and war profiteering while remembering the good times.

I think there could be items kept and some not taken. Then it gives opportunity to do an on leave arc where the party comes back to home and seeing how politics and support for the war has changed opinion and the places once familiar.

Theres a lot of potential. I think thered have to be a good bit of worldbuilding and some classes would definitely have to be tweaked a bit
