Wizard on top and a paladin/barbarian kobolds underneath to tank the damage, the DM would probably want to kill you, but it would be very funny for a few fights.

Kind of a good character for an npc if you don’t tell the players it’s three kolbolts in a trenchcoat

I actually did this once. One of my players used a spell where they could ask a question and compel the subject to answer through excessive friendliness but could only cast it so many times and they didn’t realize it was three kobolds in a trench coat and the spell only affected one of the kobolds while the others stopped it from responding
