Your prefrontal cortex is the name you were looking for, and it doesn’t full develop until you hit the age of 25. 18 yo might think their fully developed but scientifically a persons brain isn’t until the age of 25.

So, there a lot of intelligent people write/ discover ideas and thoughts but regardless of that a persons prefrontal cortex isn’t fully developed until they turn 25 yo
